The 32nd meeting of the Board of Directors of ICCIA

          Islamic Chamber of Commerce, Industry & Agriculture is honored to announce the successful conclusion of the 32nd meeting of the Board of Directors of ICCIA, which has been held & chaired by His Excellency President of ICCIA, Mr. Abdullah Saleh Kamel, on Friday & Saturday, December 17- 18, 2021, at Makkah Chamber`s Headquarters- Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

            As part of ICCIA`s efforts towards enhancing economic cooperation among the Islamic countries, and with the virtual and physical participation of delegations from ICCIA Board of Directors, the 32nd meeting of the Board of Directors of ICCIA tackled, for two days, ways of achieving concrete results to promote renaissance & economic growth across OIC member states.

 

 

          The Meeting started with the opening speech of H.E. Mr. Abdullah Saleh Kamel, President of ICCIA, in which he indicated that his vision for ICCIA is to be the umbrella that brings businessmen together, stressing that it is not a replacement of any other existing entity at all.

        After that, H.E. Dr. Majid Al- Qasabi, Minister of Commerce of KSA, who participated virtually in the meeting, highlighted the crucial role of the private sector in enhancing cooperation and solidarity among Islamic countries in all areas of economy

         During his opening speech, H.E. Mr. Hisham bin Mohammed Kaaki, Vice President of Federation of Saudi Chambers of Commerce and President of Makkah Chamber of Commerce & Industry, highlighted the importance of the meeting in enhancing economic cooperation among ICCIA`s members to deal with various challenges impeding economic growth in the whole world.

          In addition, H.E. Mr. Yousef Hasan Khalawi, Secretary General of ICCIA, presented ICCIA`s vision & objectives for the upcoming year, particularly with regard to activating ICCIA`s Forums Strategy which will launch with Digital Economy Forum in 2022, besides organizing regional & virtual workshop among ICCIA`s members regularly, launching ICCIA` academy on developing leaders of chambers of commerce through specific programs, and expanding in accepting memberships of Muslim minorities, as well as establishing a strategy for digital transformation, and other objectives that contribute to developing the economy of the Islamic World.

          During the first day of the 32nd meeting of the Board of Directors of ICCIA, a dinner had been held & chaired by H.E. Mr. Abdullah Saleh Kamel, President of ICCIA, in honor of ICCIA`s Board of Directors members, attended by a selection of ambassadors, international organizations representatives and ICCIA`s Board of Directors member states, at Umm Alqura “Masar”. 

         At Umm Alqura “Masar”, the Investment Opportunities Exhibition had been held on the sidelines of the 32nd meeting of ICCIA`s Board of Directors, to introduce “Masar” Vision to the honorable presence as an opportunity for national & international investors who look for secure, sustainable and profitable revenues.

          Mr. Yasser Abu Ateeq, CEO of Umm Alqura Company for Development & Construction, inaugurated the Investment Opportunities Exhibition, highlighting the competitive advantages of Masar in enhancing the experience of pilgrims and residents by providing world class services.

          The second day of the 32nd meeting of the Board of Directors of the Islamic Chamber of Commerce, Industry & Agriculture started with the opening speech of Eng. Ismat Abdulkarim Maatouk, Secretary General of Makkah Chamber of Commerce & Industry, and H.E. Mr. Hisham bin Mohammed Kaaki, Vice President of Federation of Saudi Chambers of Commerce and President of Makkah Chamber of Commerce & Industry.

           Moreover, Eng. Ashraf El Tanbouly, CEO at Islamic Chamber of Halal Certification Services Company (ICHCS), conducted, with his distinctive experience in business process improvement & development fields, a Workshop on Halal around the World.

          H.E. Mr. Hisham bin Mohammed Kaaki, Vice President of Federation of Saudi Chambers of Commerce and President of Makkah Chamber of Commerce & Industry, highlighted the importance of the workshop in proving that halal market is not limited to food, but extend to include medicine, cosmetics and many other sectors, stressing the crucial role of private sector in halal field, that would complement roles of governments of the Islamic countries.

             As part of the exerted efforts towards improving business climate & economic growth across OIC member countries, Makkah Chamber of Commerce & Industry Presented investment opportunities, aiming to exchange investment opportunities & open up new avenues of cooperation to national & international investors, and thus contributing to increasing joint investments among the Islamic countries.

          In this regard, the 32nd meeting of ICCIA`s Board of Directors witnessed Qassim Chamber of Commerce presentation of agricultural services & products in Qassim Region, and an exhibition of products that includes pavilions for Qassim Chamber of Commerce, Bisha Chamber, Jazan Chamber, Taif Chamber, besides Ministry of Investment to attract investments to KSA.

          On the sidelines of the 32nd meeting of the Board of Directors of ICCIA, B2B meetings had been held to reach the available opportunities of cooperation, create new partnerships, and establish stronger ties among various participants & attendees, thus contributing to enhancing economic cooperation, improving business climate, and increasing economic growth rate in the Islamic countries.

          In addition, Makkah Chamber of Commerce & Industry, organized a Productive Families & Handicrafts Exhibition, which was visited by H.E. Mr. Abdullah Saleh Kamel, President of ICCIA, on the sidelines of the 32nd meeting of ICCIA`s Board of Director, at Makkah Chamber`s Headquarters- KSA.

          Furthermore, a strategic partnership agreement had been signed between ICCIA and Makkah Chamber of Commerce & Industry, to enhance cooperation between the two parties regarding upcoming events & activities across OIC member countries.

          The 32nd meeting of the Board of Directors of the Islamic Chamber of Commerce, Industry & Agriculture came as a platform that presents investment opportunities of the private sector of the Islamic countries, believing in the importance of such meetings to serve ICCIA developmental objectives and enhance cooperation among its member states.
