Within the framework of ICCIA’s keenness to strengthen and empower the role of the private sector worldwide, especially in Africa, H.E. Mr. Yousef Khalawi, Secretary-General of the Islamic Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture, met with H.E. Mr. Ahmed Bab Ould Aleh, President of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture of Mauritania (CCIAM) and the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the G5 Sahel Countries and a delegation of Mauritanian businessmen at CCIAM’s headquarters in Nouakchott, to discuss ways to encourage investment and develop the role of the private sector in supporting economic development in G5 Sahel countries.
The meeting also tackled the updates of ICCIA’s project to establish microfinance institutions in G5 Sahel countries and its role in supporting entrepreneurship, creating sustainable job opportunities for youth, providing innovative funding methods, which contribute to the economic and social growth of these countries.
