Islamic Chamber of Commerce participated in the 15th session of the coordination meeting between the United Nations and Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) which kicked off Monday 18 July 2022 till Wednesday, 20 July 2022 at the United Nations Office in Geneva, with the high-level participation of representatives of more than 30 agencies, fund and program of the United Nations and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
Striving to enhance cooperation between ICCIA and different UN agencies, Ms. Aalia Jafar, Director of International Relations at ICCIA gave a speech at the opening ceremony about the areas of mutual interest that UN agencies and ICCIA continues to share such as projects, events and activities and the Islamic Chamber’s aspiration for ongoing contributions.
As part of ICCIA delegation, Ms. Nourhan Haffez, Media and Communications Manager represented ICCIA at the social and Cultural Working Group and shared a brief about ICCIA upcoming activities such as OIC Art strategy, traditional Handicrafts Forum, and Modest Fashion webinar series.
During the 3 days of the meeting, the participants reviewed the developments of cooperation, assessed the progress made in joint activities between the United Nations and Islamic Cooperation Organizations, and discussed ways and mechanisms for strengthening partnership in the fields of science, education, culture, environment and food security, strengthening dialogue between different cultures, and spreading peace and security.
