DESCRIPTION

Based on the strategy of the Islamic Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture (ICCIA) and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (2020-2025), whose objectives focus mainly on establishing appropriate national social protection systems and ensuring that all members of society receive equitable shares of various resources and services, including microfinance.

The Islamic Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Agriculture, in cooperation with the Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce, is organizing a workshop on microfinance. This workshop comes as a continuation of the series of workshops of the Islamic Chamber aimed at spreading awareness and knowledge of various components and experiences in the field of microfinance. In addition to several topics, including discussing the challenges facing the microfinance sector in developing countries, influential and effective investment, and the impact of the COVID-19 crisis on microfinance institutions.

Objectives of the workshop:

• Promoting Cairo as a regional hub for Africa in holding workshops aimed at serving the private sector in the African countries.

• Mobilizing attention by the concerned parties, especially the five African Coast Group countries, entrepreneurs, investors, federations of Islamic and African Chambers of Commerce and governments with their concerned bodies.

• Raising awareness of the needs of microfinance projects and achieving effective joint cooperation.

• Providing practical solutions to meet the challenges facing microfinance.

• Promoting the project of the Islamic Chamber to establish microfinance banks in the five Sahel countries.

• Supporting entrepreneurship by promoting their projects to financial institutions.

• Sharing Entrepreneurs Success Stories.
