Egypt hosts meetings of the 25th session of Near East Forestry and Range Commission (NEFRC) via video conference, Under the patronage of Mr. El-Sayed El-Kaseer, Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, and with the participation of representatives of more than 27 member states, besides regional & International Organizations concerned with forestry, starting today till Oct. 21, 2021.
It is noteworthy that Near East Forestry and Range Commission (NEFRC) is one of six regional forestry commissions established by the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in 1953, to provide policy and technical forum for the countries of the Near East to discuss and address forest issues on a regional basis, facilitate exchanging information & experiences, and provide advice on development and forest- related issues. It consists of 32 member states, and its membership is open all member nations and associate members whose territories are situated wholly or in part in the Near East Region, or who are responsible for the international relations of any non-self-governing territories in the Region.
