A cooperation agreement has been signed between World Bank Group`s International Finance Corporation, and The National Council for Women in Egypt, witnessed by Dr. Rania Al-Mashat, Minister of International Cooperation, at the headquarters of the ministry, on providing technical support for developing Egypt`s performance and supporting its efforts in achieving women`s economic empowerment, to increase their participation in achieving Egypt`s vision 2030.
According to the agreement, National Council for Women in Egypt work in partnership with International Finance Corporation to promote women empowerment efforts, increase their participation in various fields, facilitate conditions of bank financing for women entrepreneurs, and create suitable working environment for women, in order to expand women`s role in increasing product, and supporting economic growth.
Dr. Rania Al-Mashat, Minister of International Cooperation pointed out that this agreement is compatible with “catalyst for bridging the gender gap” initiative, which has been launched by ministry of International Cooperation in cooperation with the National Council for Women, International Economic Forum, and some private sector companies, for closing economic gaps between genders and promoting gender parity in the economic life. She also mentioned that Egypt Forum for International Cooperation and Development Finance “Egypt- ICF” addressed sessions and workshops for highlighting the importance of women empowerment in achieving development in various areas of life.
