Pakistan`s exports of information technology (IT) & IT enabled services revenues have reached $635 in the first quarter of the current fiscal year, registering an increase of 42% compared to the same period of last year, which stood at $445. This increase is a sign of optimism, whereas during the whole last fiscal year, Pakistan exports of IT reached $2 billion compared to $1.44 billion, which means that it will record a huge increase for the whole fiscal year (2021- 2022).
Dr. Sohail Rajput, Federal Secretary at Ministry of Information Technology & Telecommunication, expressed his pride of this progress, and mentioned that “Pakistan IT industry is delivering high-quality products and services to over 120 countries, earning valuable foreign exchange, creating high-paying jobs, improving nation’s productivity and quality of life through innovative technology solutions”, highlighting the exerted efforts of the government to promote IT sector, specially offering several incentives in taxes and procedures in the budget 2021-22.
